What Is Parent Coach Connection? We take parent education to families and coach parents in partnership, to work effectively with their children. Unlike therapy, which focuses on past experiences and diagnosis, parent coaching is focused on empowerment and building on family strengths. It is personalized education and support. We provide a personal Parent Coach that you will be able to call throughout your years of parenting. Hopefully, having a parent coach will be as common as having a personal pediatrician.
Parent Coach Connection provides you a Certified Coach who will work with you to explore the strengths and needs of your family, helping you bring about growth and change. Our Parent Coaches respect the strengths and uniqueness of the families we work with. We provide you with support, guidance and resources and together we create positive changes. You always make the final decision about how to meet your family’s needs in ways that work for you. |
Why Is Parent Coaching So Important?Society has become busier, more diverse, and families are spread out over a wider geographical area, causing traditional support systems to fall apart. Today’s children are being raised in a variety of family structures such as blended and single parent families, dual income families, and grandparents raising grandchildren.
As a parent you have seen just how much parenting has changed. We know that parents need additional objective support in raising their children. The NY Times reported that 83% of working mothers have experienced conflict between work and home and are searching for a way to create needed balance. A study of Generation X men reports that 63% of men do not believe that the traditional gender roles are better for family life, and want to be more involved in the parenting of their children. You do not need therapists or consultants or counselors. You need a coach who has the background in parent education as well as coaching skills. Parent Coaching is all about helping you become clear about your own parenting goals through listening, asking powerful questions, teaching you skills, and providing you support to bring about the change you are looking for. |
