Connect more, create less.Your time is precious and you'd rather spend it actually serving your clients than creating graphics to post on your social media accounts. Sound familiar? We want to help you spend less time creating content, and more time connecting with the people you serve. |
Hello! My name is Rebecca Glover and I am the Director of Communications at Parent Coach Connection.
I graduated in 2013 with a bachelors degree in Social Work. I knew I wanted to serve people and have had many wonderful opportunities to walk alongside people from all walks of life ranging from aging adults to refugees to at risk youth.
No matter what position I have held, I've always been an "idea person" and I'm always looking for ways to reach more people and make things easier to find, easier to read, and easier to understand.
At Habitat for Humanity, Tacoma WA I took a bunch of slips of paper previously given to prospective homeowners in bits and pieces and made a cohesive branded package with all of the information separated into booklets depending on their stage in the process.
During my time working at the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department I created visual trainings for employees to better understand the rules and regulations regarding records management.
Being a founding member of the Parent Coach Connection team since 2016 has given me the opportunity to combine my desire to serve others, and my skills at connecting people to information.

I think this program is VITAL for Individuals working with families. It's not a theoretical class - it's a hands-on course that really teaches professionals how to best interact with clients/families. In my opinion, some degree of Coaching class is valuable. An example of how it's helped me grow (or rather, step back) is as a Breastfeeding Counselor. While we pride ourselves in being evidence-based, we are not clinicians - we are counselors - here to support and encourage. Every day I see my BC colleagues lecturing moms on "evidence-based information" - and frustrated when moms don't follow their advice. We have forgotten that we aren't clinicians, but support persons, and no longer take the time to do what I learned in Parent Coaching - listening, affirming, guiding parents through identifying their OWN goals, etc. The Parent Coaching program helped me grow personally and professionally. It changed how I interact with everyone - not just parents or people I work with. It taught me to listen, not lecture, and only educate when invited to. - Arica Goulet, M.A. (Parent Coaching Certificate Recipient) |
